Co-Founders and Jewelry Designers
We’ve been called Marie-Pierre-Mathieu, MPM, Martha and Martha (in reference to Martha Stewart because of our hospitality and the many great parties we’ve thrown), and other things like “a bit crazy” and “risk takers”…
But we really see ourselves as hybrids of many genres. Both Film Making graduates with a keen sense for the arts, we’ve been doing business for more than a decade now. Our jewelry making is done in the eclectic and vibrant city of Montreal while we create and live by the lake Deux-Montagnes, in the North Shore’s country side, where we enjoy a close contact with horizon and opulent nature.
We love great food. People say Pierre-Mathieu should open a restaurant (maybe one day!) Total music addicts, the soundtrack of our lives sets the mood all day long, playing in the background.
THE WAY I AM is the synthesis of our lifestyle based on freedom, global conscience, quality products, work ethic and sharing the love.
Stef has always been a close collaborator to THE WAY I AM. We share the same enthusiasm about art and culture.

At her best, she'll have ink and paint all over her fingers. Her painting work explores the uncertain boundaries between humans and animals.
Living in Montreal, she still loves traveling around the world.
It’s always nice to be able to share project ideas with her. Her enlightened feedback moves us forward.

They're both French expat on an amazing trip from America to Asia and Australia. Oscar guided us during our entrepreneur soul searching with his great knowledge in digital production. They are also modeling for THE WAY I AM from time to time (thanks guys!) They're a beautiful couple en route to the other side of the world!

Solène started her expat life in Germany and Brussels (not so far from home) but little by little expanded her horizons and decided to settle in Montreal, a place she often calls home.
Following Oscar to New York City, she turned her skills and expat experience into a Global Mobility career. (That’s convenient, she takes care of everything boring – insurance/visas/administrative stuff… but guess what, she enjoys it!)
Oscar’s path led him to Boise, Idaho, where he started his own production studio for a couple years.
He then joined his significant other in Montreal and, from there, took the opportunity to work in NYC where he got real serious about digital production and web marketing (and rock climbing, and building stuff, and inventing cocktails, and taking pictures of everything (literally)…).

Trained as a professional journalist, she decided to jump in! She left everything behind and embarked on a sailing trip around the world with her boyfriend Jeff.
Since she left, THE WAY I AM and OUR WORLD BLOG share the ups and down of her adventure at sea.
Born in Bas-du-Fleuve, Quebec, at a time when fluo colors and mullet hairdo were in style, Marie-Pier quickly developed a passion for words.
From rebel kid to first class student, she graduated with a Art and Technology degree in 2008. She immediately got a job at the weekly Le Canada Français.
Somehow shy and afraid, she seized the opportunity of her graduation to conquer Europe, visiting the Eiffel tower, Rome’s colliseum and Big Ben. It was the beginning a beautiful love story between herself and her passport.
Seven years later, after many journalism awards and fallen in love with a boy from Colorado, she’s back on the road without precise itinerary or agenda. Free.

Frank and Lo met August 19th 2014, 10 days later, Lo flew to Colorado to meet Frank in his new empty van to mountain bike for 4 days. Since then, they have been inseparable. Their addiction of fresh air, mountain biking, skiing and beer brought them together and inspired them to work endless hours to build their home on wheels in a new 2014 Sprinter van.
They gave birth to a 8000 pound healthy Cedar van in August 2016. This bundle of joy will accompany them through their journey across North America with Vancouver, BC, as their final destination where their static home will be for the next few years. Luckily, their adventures won’t end there because you don’t move to BC to sit in your 1 1/2 apartment while it’s raining cats and dogs outside. They will be broke but alive.
